Introduction
56 Y/ Female Patient Post op with Ca Breast on Chemotherapy; Complaining of pain in the right gluteal region and radiating till the right foot .
Procedure details:
CT-guided aspiration of the right pyriformis abscess in prone position under local anesthesia.
Introducer needle used: 18G spinal needle ;
No complications post procedure.
The patient was in extreme pain pre procedure which was better by 80 % post procedure as the mass effect of the abscess on the sciatic nerve had reduced considerably.
Microorganism identified: Staph. Aureus.
